Jefferson Airplane is an American psychedelic rock band that released the song "White Rabbit" on their 1967 album called Surrealistic Pillow. Grace Slick wrote the song "White Rabbit", and it was then released as a single and peaking eighth on the Billboard Hot 100, thus becoming the band's second top ten success. The song appeared on the eighty-seventh spot on Rate Your Music's Top Singles of All Time, and it was ranked among The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame's 500 Songs that Shaped Rock and Roll.
The song begins with a verse with a melody, an acoustic guitar steps in, and the bass drum supports the verse while the vocals are introduced. The song brings out a dynamic balance between the vocals and the instrumental that without denial complement each other. Grace Slick expresses the lyrics a deep and warm vocal tonality.
The song shows an instrumental between the verses that comprise of the picking guitar riff, a corresponding base drum riff, and an acoustic riff while a piano riff is also included. This instrumentation is complimented with a random inclusion of a reverbed electric guitar. Another dimension is shown in the song with the reverberation of the guitar creating a sense of spatiality. When the chorus is about to sing the acoustic guitar riff steps in and the other instruments and vocals, introduce the chorus.
The song shows dynamism as it creates a feeling of suspense before Grace Slick re-introduces the vocals with a crescendo evident in the vocal tonality. The chorus combines an instrumentation of synthesized riff, bass guitar riff, and percussive ornamentation.
The song utilizes the imagery found in 1865's Alice's Adventures in Wonderland; works by Lewis Carroll.

The song begins smoothly with an intensely ominous sound composed partly of rock instruments of tympani and viola.
In the first verse, Barker influences a transition by hitting the snare. Bruce then provides a melody that has a pose after every four syllables and chords, which complement the lyrics. The song has a descending melodic line that brings out the serious mood of the song. While the melody is sung, the propulsive but slow and regimented of Bruce’s bass and Baker’s drums shows the emotional state of Bruce who introduces the chorus with a sweet falsetto thus emphasizing the pathos of the lyrics. The instrumentation is strengthened with a quiet chord of Clapton’s guitar.
The second verse is introduced with Clapton’s lead guitar that is played with a heavy wah-wah at a higher pitch than other instruments a...
