Instrumental music teachers encounter a lot during their careers. Music as a curriculum in general since in time memorial has faced significant changes. In instrumental teaching there is always theory and practical classes hence the teacher has to increase efforts in order to make sure that there is no gap between the theory education and practical education. In case of the presence of any gap, the gap has to be bridged. To solve this there is need of increased focus. Developing admissions procedures in order to assess the upcoming and new competence seem to be difficult for the instrumental teachers ADDIN EN.CITE Camilleri 2007 81 (Camilleri & Heijden, 2007) 81 81 17 Camilleri, Emanuel Heijden, Beatrice I. One of the strategies used by instrumental teachers is time management and scheduling. Time should be scheduled appropriately more time should be spent on new students to help them catch up and not loose focus because the new students need to be taken slow in order to enable their grasp the needed skills of how to handle their equipment. The schedule must not be taken for granted time allocated should not be a waste.
Another strategy used is creativity instrumental teachers have to improvise hence they need to be creative in their teachings so that it cannot be monotonous and boring. Group discussions can also be implemented during the lessons. This helps students interact and they get a chance to learn from each other ADDIN EN.CITE Jensen 2002 82 (Jensen & Aamodt, 2002; Osterloh & Frey, 2000) 82 82 17 Jensen, Karen Aamodt, Per Olaf Moral Motivation and the Battle for Students: The Case of Studies in Nursing and Social Work in Norway Higher Education Higher Education 361-378 44 3/4 2002 Springer 00181560 /stable/3447493 10.2307/3447493 Osterloh 2000 84 84 84 17 Osterloh, Margit Frey, Bruno S. Planning focuses on what to do and when to do what you have organized and how to do it. Instrumental teachers have a time frame on how to conduct their lessons. The teachers can use journals or charts to help them record or arrange on what is to be done at the end of each day. A target is always set so as to ensure that there are no lags and that the syllabus is completed when it is due ADDIN EN.CITE Gagné 2005 83 (Gagné & Deci, 2005; Peterson, 2004) 83 83 17 Gagné, M...
