            Purpose Students will explore issues encountered by instrumental music teacher. They will discuss successful planning and teaching strategies utilized by instrumental music educators. Topics covered will be: rehearsal planning and preparation, instrumental transpositions, arranging, ensemble resources, performance literature, supplemental materials, equipment repair and maintenance will be examined through hands-on demonstration and discussion. Course Objectives -	Students will gain an understanding of the underlying logic for sequencing materials. -	Students will explore the physical nature of a comprehensive instrumental music classroom. -	Students will define and refine instructional strategies for instrumental music classes. -	Students will gain an understanding of principles of classroom management. -	Students will have opportunities to exhibit teaching and performance skills appropriate for the middle and high school instrumental music classroom. - Students will develop and refine a personal teaching philosophy. -	Students will explore the nature and scope of technology as it impacts today's instrumental music classroom. -	Students will demonstrate an understanding of instrumental transpositions and arranging for instrumental music classes.
