I also volunteered in Savannah Georgia by helping building simple, decent and affordable homes from all over the city. WHAT LEARNING WAS GAINED:3. What competencies have you acquired in learning about this subject?Some of the competencies learned from this course are learning how to build houses and making sure unfortunate people have their needs met. Also, I came away with learning how important clean water is and making sure that there are proper techniques done to make sure that the water is drinkable for people.

What challenges have you faced in learning about this subject?One of the challenges has been the relatively high price of land and materials, the difficulty of the construction regulations and union tangles that made "doing Habitat" hard in the big city. In addition, the easy-to-construct, concrete-slab frame homes that have turn out to be a habitat staple do not at all times work on the streets of older, and large cities.RESOURCES:6. Introduction to Residential Coastal Construction is important because the eruption of coastal development has been able guide to bigger amounts of structures in areas that are not considered to be at high risk. Also, this course has helped me to understand that the risk to coastal residential development can be cut down by using best practices in design, siting, and construction.

My jobs included going out into the community to address the immediate and long-term needs of these areas that were impacted by natural disasters. I also learned that the importance of building inspections is important. I also learned how to learn about what faults are when it comes to earthquakes.

What challenges have you faced in learning about this subject?One of the challenges was just learning some of the basic knowledge about earthquakes and how buildings are able to be built in order to be safe when an earthquake happens. Also, learning about the requirements of the Executive Order was a little bit difficult.

After completing this course, I was able to walk away with understanding that it was designed for individuals who will be able to accomplish the exercise evaluation and improvement planning function within their dominion. Several of the lessons really helped me to address particular evaluation functions and methods that are able to be utilized in evaluating training previous to an exercise. On the other hand, this course first and foremost helped me to focuses on staffing, planning, organizing, leading, and organizing the exercise evaluation and improvement planning purpose.

I also acquired the skills of understanding the need for a systematic method to exercise assessment. I also learned the eight steps of the exercise evaluation and improvement planning process and also how to apply them.
5. What challenges have you faced in learning about this subject?One of the challenges was being able to recognize events that were unusual. Events that might show a crisis and define suitable action. Another challenge was being able to apply creative problem solving to rare health risks. Also there are the communication challenges within valuable responsibilities. Some of the communication issues involve responding to emergencies on time and knowing the right words to say to address the issues.

For example, I learned the skills of the emergency manager's parts and responsibilities. Not only that, I learned about the fundamental principles of radiation not to mention the nuclear threat and protective measures that are involved with an earthquake. I also learned other things such as to develop a community plan for being able to take care of animals in an emergency.
