Communication Skills of an Early Childhood Educator

Communication refers to the process by which two or more people exchange information such as ideas, thoughts, and feelings. This could be through oral or written from, and by use of other mediums. It is important for children to develop good communication skills at a young age because it is the basis of learning, development, and a healthy living for all human beings. Children mostly express themselves through gestures, talking, touch, sign language, drawing, and even crying. Receiving of information by the young children, from their teachers, is a more complex process. This is because children learn through observations and gradual understanding of a language. Therefore, it is up to the teachers to develop strategies that will enhance successful communication with the young students.
