The Progressive Era and the New Deal
Over the history of the United States, the progressive era ran from the 1890s to the late years of 1920s. The progressive era was movement that was planned and organized well across the United States and its goals were much diversified. The leaders during this era focused more on the elements that make up human beings and made enormous efforts for their own developments. This was done through promotion of liberty to help in the stimulation of the available work force and through the exploitation of the potential that people had. The aim of this movement was to do away with the rules that were imposed by the liberals of the then contemporary idealism. The expansion of this progressive movement across the cities in the United States confronted the established mechanisms that operated as monopolies and threatened the economy of America.
The leaders in the progressive era advocated for democracy, and they felt that with the corrupt policies enacted by the government, their efforts would be in vain. They believed that they could end the corporate dominance and work towards solving problems especially among the lower class citizens as well restructuring the political, social and cultural setting of the United States. Inspired by pragmatic philosophy, the progressives rose to meet this challenge. The managerial revoluti
