Growing up in Pakistan, I remember always being immensely passionate about the sciences and technology. So much so that my father nicknamed me ‘Lil Einstein’ and often quipped that I would grow up to become a physicist or scientist. As such, I grew up with the sense that I would be involved in science in some form or fashion and resultantly buried myself in sci-fi books and documentaries. I distinctly recall visiting the Engro Polymer & Chemicals Limited site in Pakistan as a child with my father and being greatly impacted by the intricacies of the designs and processes, all of which left an indelible imprint on my heart.
Over the years, this keen interest in the sciences only intensified. Since my O-Levels, I have been a Science student and took pure sciences along with Maths in A-Levels. I have likewise been passionate about design based on engineering principles as well as physical sciences. Currently a material and design engineering student, design has been an integral part of my undergraduate degree for the first two years thereby giving me the skill to critically design new things in accordance with proper engineering principles.
