Article Analysis
This article provides an analysis of a case of goiter in a young male with dietary history. The authors' primary objective is to prove that there is a correlation between goiter development and the kind of food we consume (Goyal et al., 2020). The aim of the article was achieved through laboratory and imaging procedures. The article provides very informative details but has a title that, although it relates to the article's content, it is too long and, at the same time, does not represent a summary of the article's content. The title "HYPOTHYROIDISM AND GOITER IN A YOUNG MALE WITH SUSPECTED DIETARY IODINE DEFICIENCY FOLLOWED BY THYROTOXICOSIS AFTER IODINE SUPPLEMENTATION" (Goyal et al., 2020) is not descriptive as it is neither clear nor succinct. The article provides more details than just explaining goiter in a young male with dietary history. In contrast, the title of the article only seems to be concentrating on the case only. From my perspective, the article's title should be changed and made precise to cover the article's entire content without solely concentrating on the case. A good title can be: "Relationship between hypothyroidism, goiter and dietary Iodine: Case Study of a Young Male with Dietary History." Regardless, this is a subjective proposal, and different people can have different ideas.
This scientific journal indirectly talks about the importance of nutrition and health. The primary target audiences include parents, society, and government. First, the researchers who are also the authors of the article concentrated on finding out the relationship between Hypothyroidism and goiter and the type of food that is consumed in society. Through the reflection of the dietary history of the young male, which was mostly being involved in the consumption of junk food and limited iodine, the authors were targeting this information to get the global society so that everyone can embrace the right diet to ensure healthy living (Goyal et al., 2020). In addition, the results of the research seem to be communicating to parents who, in most cases, are responsible for the kind of food that their children consume. Parents should ensure that their children consume healthy food that includes all nutrients and minerals. Finally, the article is also targeting governments whose objective, in this case, is to introduce national programs for Iodine supplementation. It is the work and responsibility of every government to ensure that its citizens are purchasing food substances that are healthy and of the right quality.
