What next for Huawei?
Huawei is the second largest smartphone maker trailing Samsung closely. Last year alone, Financial Times reported that Huawei sold 200 million mobile gadgets across the world. Notably, the biggest market for Huawei products is Europe. The decision this week by Google to cut Huawei’s use of Android OS as the engine that powers its mobile devices could be catastrophic to the giant mobile provider in the short term and more devastating to several companies that traded with it in the long term. Google is complying with US decision to put Huawei on its black entity list. This means that any US company that wants to trade with Huawei will have to seek a license from the government.
