Kris Holloway’s Monique and the Mango Rains presents a story of the author’s relationship with a local health care worker in the Malian village of Nampossela. The events occurred between 1989 and 1991 when Kris was assigned in Mali as a Peace Corps. The piece provides insightful information for readers interested in women’s health.
