BlackBerry is a line of electronic handheld devices marketed and developed by BlackBerry Limited previously called Research In Motion (RIM). Canadian based BlackBerry Limited is a telecommunications company dealing with wireless equipment. The company famed for its line of BlackBerry smartphones and tablets and has its headquarters in Ontario Canada. The first blackberry device was availed in the market in the year 1999 as an email pager (Johnston & Evers, 2012).
Before the arrival of Apple’s iPhone and Google’s Android based devices, Blackberry was the leading manufacturer of smartphones with a market share of up to forty-six per cent in the United States in 2010. The market share has however reduced to a mere 3.8% in 2013.
