source..The actor Mel Gibson was arrested 16 years ago in 2006 in place called Malibu. He was suspected for driving while drunk. He also made ant-Semitic statements to a policeman. It was in good spirit that the police arrested him for driving while drunk. This was for his own safety and police were observing law and order. Making the annoying statements too against Jews warranted him arrest too. Despite him making all those racist remarks he realized his mistakes and he apologized and termed those remarks as comments made in moments of insanity and said that incident as an unacceptable behavior. This is what Alexander (2014), records. The Batman actor, Gary Oldman came into Gibson’s defense. This lessened Gibson’s guilty. Nevertheless, Oldman apologized publicly and also through an apology letter which was sent to the Ant –Defamation League.
According to Los Angeles Times (2017) cooperated with police. This is something he did well. When he tried to escape arrest and ran to his, and police caught up with him, he didn’t resist. Another thing he did well is to accept and accept to take breath test. Ehrbar (2016) says that, he is trying to forget about the incident, although people are trying to bring it back. The good thing here is that he trying so much to forget what happened. He doesn’t want to be judged by his word but by his which is good. Since then there were no incidents of him discriminating anyone.
Gibson had asked the police whether he officer was a Jew. However, it was needless for the police to answer him about her race. Instead she would have arrested him for driving while drunk. And for Gibson, since he is a public figure, he should have not added insult to the injuries by making such remarks. He should have restrained himself from such comments. Although the Oldman wanted to save Gibson’s face, he should have defended such manner by saying that Gibson didn’t use obscene word on Jews.
