ORG 561 – Examination of Modern Leadership
Colorado State University – Global Campus
December 2, 2019
Membership in the Organizational Development Professional Association (ODPA) has been in decline for the past five years. The organizations director has expressed concern that the current board is not aligned with trends, and challenges and wants to provide educations to increase the urgency the Director feels is necessary in order to remain relevant to its customers and increase membership. The purpose of this paper seeks to evaluate current members, as well as board members to facilitate the organizational change needed to remain relevant as well as increase member satisfaction surveys to increase membership in the future. Due to leadership evolving and becoming more complex, it is critical that ODPA board members, and ODPA leadership overall understand advancements in technology, diversity, and continually redefine is management and leadership roles (Avolio, Walumbwa & Weber, 2009).
The leadership of ODPA can address the issues that are responsible for declining members, legitimacy, relevance to professional development and continuing education by review its vision, objectives, and adoption of modern technologies.
