Introduction
The UMC was formed as a result of unity between The Evangelical United Brethren Church and the Methodist Church in the year 1968. However, the United Methodist has a history in the United States since it has links to John and Charles Wesley movement that began in England, therefore, sharing a historical connection to other Methodists. It is important to note that the United Methodist Church is very much dedicated to the preservation of the rich history of the denomination (86). The church is identified with its strong affirmation of their faith in God the Father, on their unity with Jesus Christ the savior, and the presence of the Holy Spirit as the guardian genius and guard. The application of UMC faith considers to a greater extent the cultural contexts around the world as they advance their movement. The UMC professes their complete dependence upon God in their entire livelihood and even unto life eternal. The UMC strives to bring every community member into belief and acknowledgement of God’s love. They stand in the unity of declaration concerning the availability of God’s grace to all humankind (1).
