California city is the one chosen for the final project’s budget. According to recent statistics, the city has a total population of 38,802,500 out of the total population in United States of America that is 318, 857, and 056 as per the financial year 2014. By January, 2015, the population was about 38.7 million with a crude Growth rate of 0.9 % in 2014, Total fertility rate in 2013 was 1.87, and life expectancy for the same financial year was 81.0. The 2010 census for persons with 65 years and over was 11% and the expected 2030 projection is 20% (Cohen, 2015).
The land area in square miles according to 2010 statistics was 155, 779.00 out of United States’ total 3, 531, 905.43 square miles. Persons per square mile is represented by 239.1 in California with the United States having 87.4 which implies that the state has a high population growth rate so any budget made should be flexible enough to deal with faster population growth rate issues as well as laying down strategies to provide jobs for the unemployed youths that have ked to increased criminal activity rate. Drug trafficking and other criminal activities have been on the rise in California. From 1990, the non agricultural wage and salary employment for California has been 132, 000 dollars. Unemployment rate of 40,000 people for I every square kilometer (Cohen, 2015)
