Problem 7.1
Political reasons, may have been a motivation to this challenge. By identifying a problem that is in the society, politicians can effectively sell their re-election ideas. The second reason is based on a personal vendetta. The idea that they are the final decision makers makes them see anyone else as subordinates who take orders from them. Although this ego aspects are subject to particular managers, it cannot be downplayed that the managers’ egos were huge. It's vital to have the understanding that many managers don't like appearing to be sleeping on their job, and therefore, independent audits may be a bitter herb for them to swallow.
To solve this aspect, the appropriate multicultural strategy to employ will be that of managerial intervention. In every organization, exists different people some of whom are good and others bad. Since this requires goodwill from the managers, it's imperative to identify one or two managers who agree with the recommendations and influence them so as to be in a position to convince others. Creating a good rapport with at least one manager makes it easy to change other managers through them. In this way, it becomes easy to navigate through this challenge.
Problem 7.2.
It's important, to realize that dealing with a diverse group of people is of utmost importance so as to know what to expect from them. It is a fact, which in each country, people do things differently. From your standpoint, perfection and clear communication have to be prompt and on time, but it's not realistic since one not in control of all the factors that determine the outcomes and timelines. Understanding this aspect, the best strategy to use is the adaptive approach. Adapting to work practices or attitudes without making changes to the group membership or role assignments will be the key to the success of the project and to eliminating the challenges.
Problem 7.3
It's a simple truth, which various countries have diverse ways of doing things compounded with different lifestyles. In this conversation, the Indian culture of delivering news is totally opposite to that of United States.In the US, opinions shape everything that is done while culture dictates how Indians do their things. Due to these diverse ways of delivering news, a different team like the one in this context has to use multicultural adaptation strategy so that they strike a balance, without the feeling of superiority complex. By adapting to work practices or attitudes without making changes to the group membership or role, assignments will be key to a successful execution of this project.
Problem 7.4.
Aggressiveness is a character attribute that although its individual, it can also be attributed to the culture of a particular country. The truth of the matter is that not all the Filipino's are passive-Aggressive since there are some who are actively-Aggressive. However, in this state of multicultural behaviors, the sales team has to use the managerial intervention strategy. The manager has to understand these vital differences in his team so as to assign each member responsibilities in line with their persona or character attributes. The manager has to strike a right balance so that there is no unfairness in the team.
Problem 7.5.
In this cases, its paramount to understand that the Japanese culture, instills a lot of loyalty and sense of nationalism among the citizens of Japan regardless of where they are. The Japanese society is structured entirely different with the Americans culture where everything is subjective and liberal. Being the only female in the groups, it's important to understand that in Japanese culture, women are supposed to show a lot of respect for men and following their directives are vital. The structural intervention strategy will be the most appropriate so as to avoid confrontation with a deeply embedded Japanese culture.
