Panasonic Company is a Japanese based Company that specializes in the manufacture of electronic products such as television sets. The company was founded in 1918 and has its headquarters in Osaka, Japan. Organizational structure can be defined as how an organization arranges and carries out its activities such as task allocation, duties, tasks and responsibilities and the organization’s labor force so that the organization’s goals and objectives can be achieved. This basically translates to how an organization implements its functions such as coordination, controlling and supervision to help in realizing its goals. Hence good organizational structure is crucial to any organization in helping it achieve its corporate and strategic goals.
 Panasonic Company has a well outlined organizational structure that has enabled the organization to realize its goals and objectives. This has been enhanced by the appropriateness of the company’s goals, strategies and objectives. This is evidenced by the fact that the company has established many different business divisions and each division is solely responsible for its growth and success and also on crucial issues such as research and development making the company achieve its objective of producing new products that will enhance the quality of life of their consumers (Mario, 2014).
The Company has an excellent management and governance structure where delegation of duties is highly embraced to help in division of labor and an optimum management system to ensure all tasks are well carried out .This is facilitated by having the directors solely responsible of the overall supervision of tasks and the executive officers have been mandated and delegated to handle on issues and activities taking place on a day to day basis (Kelly, 2008). This kind of structure helps in the smooth facilitation of the day to day activities, leading also to production of quality products, one of the company’s main objectives.
The company has also put a limit on the directors’ term of service in respect to the duration of service. The directors are supposed to serve for a period of only one year (Hasegawa, 2011). This has enabled the company to have dynamic leadership and dynamic leaders that have helped the organization to have dynamic ideas that help in making quality decisions.
Panasonic Company has strict internal regulations that govern the organization and help it achieve both its short term and long term goals. The regulations have also helped the organization to establish strong cordial working relationships with its environment. In this case the term environment translates to people such as the local communities, the suppliers and the customers as well. The Panasonic code of conduct is an example of the organization’s internal regulations .Through such codes of conduct good contacts and relationships are established with the company’s groups that make up its environment. This eventually improves their relationship, achieving their objective of establishing good contacts with the company’s stakeholders.
Panasonic Company also through its corporate governance which is a part of the company’s organizational structure has embarked on making and producing electronic products that are eco friendly and more sustainable to the environment. This helps the organization in fulfilling its social obligation to the society of protecting and sustaining the environment in all possible ways.
Planning as an organizational activity is clearly evident at Panasonic company. Planning is an organization’s process of setting performance objectives and goals that need to be achieved in the future making planning a future based activity .One of the main activities evident in the company’s planning activities is the company’s plans of manufacturing electronic products that are eco friendly and sustainable to the environment . With this kind of objective the company is envisioning on becoming the leading company in environmental sustainability by the close of 2018(Hasegawa, 2011). This is triggered by the fact that environmental problems in the world today such as pollution have become issues of major concern that should be addressed immediately.
The company also has established various types of plans that will help the organization achieve its overall strategic objectives. For example the company has established the midterm management plans and business plans which will basically aid the organization to effectively utilize and manage their financial monthly accounts well(Hasegawa,2011).
