The proposed Basic Education Development Project is aimed at supporting the Education Sector Plan (ESP) for the year 2010 to 2025 of Togo government. The plan as developed by the government of Togo is to accomplish a universal elementary education completion by the year 2025. The project is to bring into line with the government of Togo the Accelerated Growth and Employment Promotion Strategy (SCAPE) for 2013-2017 as well as the vision of IDB 1440H to promote human development.
The government of Togo has succeeded in making some advancement towards attaining a common primary education to all the kids in the country without discrimination based on gender. Moreover, at the primary school stage approximately, 7 percent of the beginners at the age of going to school lack the access. However, about 23 percent of those who are able to acquire admission, drop-out nearly before finishing their education as a result of supply constrictions. In addition sustenance to the management of the project with financing plan of Euros 9.09 million obtained from loans whereas Euros 5.91 million is acquired from Istisna' a funding program. Distributions of this funding will be conducted according to Islamic Development Bank (IDB) payout methods.
