The Chines government has developed and implemented close to 300 cybersecurity regulations that every firm doing business in the country has to abide by (Austin, 2018). Coming from the US, one will need to develop a list of all the cybersecurity regulations that are likely to affect the business to be set-up. Once the cybersecurity regulations are identified, the technical team responsible for networks and systems will need to identify the steps to be taken to ensure requirements of each of the regulations are properly implemented to avoid sanctions and fines. Additionally, the firm setting up business in China will need to periodically hire a consultant to review its information technology environment against the cybersecurity regulations and identify gaps. The consultant will be required to provide recommendations that aid in the closure of the identified areas of non-compliance (Austin, 2018). With the periodic reviews and gap closure exercises, the information technology environment of the firm will in a short while be fully compliant with the stipulated regulations.
