a) Surveys.
Surveys involve a surveyor and a client who is queried on relevant questions about a given topic. Surveys involve people of different kinds who might be from same location or a different location and have the required information to sustain data collection ultimatums. With this criterion, many people are exposed into a number of questions with an intention of gathering data. There are many types of surveys including: panel surveys, mail surveys, telephone surveys, and in-person surveys. The results are thoroughly scrutinized to check relevancy and accuracy. Online market researchers find this method handy in obtaining public opinions about a premise, a product, or a given place – tourism site. Surveys, just like many other data collection methods, observe time and the population under coverage is also of paramount importance as well as the location of the population sample that the surveyor is interested in.
b) Interviews.
Interviews involve two parties: an interviewer and an interviewee. The interviewer provides questions to an interviewee who should be eligible and able to answer them, appropriately. Interviews can either follow a written protocol, or, be oral. The parties involved should have a basic language of communication or use a mediator in cases on language barriers. There are three types of interviews depending on the structure of the interview. These are: Structure interviews, semi-structured interviews, and unstructured interviews. Structured interviews involve properly organized questions which are also predetermined. Semi-structured interviews involved partially predetermined questions, while unstructured interviews involve free-style modelling of questions – which are not predetermined.
C) Structured questioning.
Structured questioning refers to the orderly manner in which questions are asked with the intent of data collection. The questions start with the probe to check if the answering party is reliable, able, and confident to provide suitable answers. Procedural questions tend to ask the parties involved about their observation on a given research question where the answers are recorded. An observer can opt to use both structured questions and unstructured questions in one research. Surveys seek to get insight into people's opinions. However, human feeling is complicated, with several shades of meaning. Structured questions eliminate ambiguity by offering clear, specified response possibilities that produce data that can be easily compared and contrastedCITATION MoN24 \l 1033 (Naser, 2024).
d) Observation of customers.
Observation of customer consists of the various opinions obtained from customers on goods or services offered. This data is used to predict on future sales and, perhaps, the number of customer attending in a premise. Customers withhold capabilities of forth showing strengths and weaknesses in a business.
