According to (Yada, 2017), Proteins are one of the essential nutrients vital for healthy development and growth of the body. They are the building blocks of the body responsible for the making of muscles, tendons, organs like brain and heart, and hormones, among others. Protein consumption is to be optimized because too little or too much use leads to health problems hence the need to identify a person’s daily protein consumption.
The Recommended Dietary Allowance (RDA) for protein is calculated as (0.8g of protein) X (weight in kilograms); hence, taking my weight of 60kg, my protein need is, therefore, 0.8g x60kg which is 48g which means I need to consume 48g of proteins per day. My current needs are not more than 48g protein per day; thus, I can maintain this consumption.
