Several people have left a legacy in America and that is why they are still remembered today. An example of such people is George Washington. Washington’s ethical and moral traits overlap with those of Abraham Lincoln because they both motivated their subordinates.
George Washington had several ethical and moral traits that made him lead well and most importantly, motivate his subordinates. First, George was respectful; he respected his team and cared for it. His soldiers were motivated by the fact that Washington respected what they opined. Second, Washington was an honest man. He told his soldiers that they were ought to be honest when leading. To Washington, honesty was a characteristic of a Christian soldier ("George Washington: Morals and Religion"). Last (but not least), Washington was a humble leader. He gave his soldiers a voice through requesting and considering their ideas and opinions
