Why a business manager should attend a session in international business law
Arguably, a business manger should possess a good grasp of the fundamental elements of international business law (Flood, 2007). Having a good knowledge of aspects of international business law can help a manager evade the encumbrances of having to outsource expert legal advice. Currently, and with the advent in globalization, the world has become a global village where people are able to transact internationally. Noteworthy, nowadays people are living in global economy whereby they consume a variety of goods that are made in one country and packaged in another location. Various businesses usually operate in a manner that they cross international borders. The purpose for such international movement is the search for the raw materials, labor, market and the relevant skills.
Notably, transacting business nationally is different from doing so at the international plane. When people seek t o carry on business internationally, they must be cognizant of the legal system of the countries where they seek to establish their business. In essence, the people should know the economic conditions in such country. On an equal footing, international business law equips one with the necessary skills to deconstruct economic puzzles in business including the tax regime in a specified territory.
Each and every business is affected by the dynamics of law and regulation. For instance, a manager in a particular business enterprise must adhere to the labor laws and regulations in a specific country. Moreover, the same person must be cognizant of the international laws on labor. Again, it is worth noting that international business law acquaints one with the necessary international standards and practices. For instance, a business that does not adhere to the standards set forth by the ILO, or the labor practices that have attained the status of jus cogens, violates international. In most organizations, it is a requirement that a person observes gender parity in offering employment opportunities to people. Importantly, a manager must ensure that the people with disabilities are reasonably accommodated in the organization. In so doing, the person should avoid direct and indirect forms of discrimination.
A good grasp of the provisions of The Convention on the People with Disabilities is advantageous in a business environment owing to the fact that many countries have ratified the same. Child labor is another pertinent issue worth considering in any business setting. Many countries have equally ratified the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child. Any instance of child labor constitutes violations of the rights of the child as espoused in the states’ laws. Many business transactions are usually regulated by aspects of contract law. Therefore, it is paramount for an international business manager to learn the fundamental principles of contract law.

How the case is a form an alternative dispute resolution scenario
The case satisfies the requirements of an alternative dispute resolution scenario. In essence, the case constitutes a conciliation instance whereby commission endeavors to solve matters outside the court. In essence, conciliation provides an ample opportunity for the concerned parties to resolve a particular matter in a setting that is informal. In an alternative dispute resolution setting, there is usually an intermediary, an investing officer for this matter, to facilitate the process. For instance, in the case of Andrew, the named student suffered from multiple disorders including epilepsy, autism and intellectual disability. In resolving his case, a conciliation conference acted as the intermediary and resolved the issue.
