Irrational Numbers
Prove that log3 11 is an irrational number. Irrational numbers are numbers that cannot be expressed as ratios. From the rules of logarithm we have: Logx y= z, hence the three quantities x, y and z relates as follows (Havil, 2014).
Xz = Y and from our equation we have, 3z=11 hence calculating z we have z= 311 = 2.22419. Hence, 2.22419 is an irrational number.
