Historical artifacts are very significant understanding or rather fully comprehending the historical background of a given place or a given people. They also help in fully synthesizing the current trends of the place in question with reference to both culture and social life of the people in question. This is because historical artifacts represent a given time period, which might have been significant in the series of events that led to the current disposition, be it cultural or otherwise of the place and the people in question. The case is no different with the artifact chosen for analysis in this essay. The artifact chosen for this analysis is the femur of Brachiosaurus Altithorax. This particular artifact is particularly of interest because it dates back as far as 150 million years back. This means that this artifact represents a period in history before the existence of humanity as known today, according to evolution at least. This artifact therefore has details about a historical point in time. Information about the planet during this time is limited to say the least thus making it an intricate artifact in terms of the rare nature of details it provides. The essay takes an in depth look at the artifact in terms of description and gives full information about the physical relativities of the artifact. The essay also considers the impact of the artifact in terms of its relevance to the people. Its impact in the area where it is located with relevance to not only economics but also culture and civilization is also highlighted.
This artifact is very interesting as far as its physical properties are concerned. The most outstanding part of this artifact is perhaps its physical size. This artifact is rather large and is the largest dinosaur bone ever discovered or rather on deposit in any museum all over the world. This artifact is resembling of the Chicago fair in the devil in a white dress. This is because the artifact is similar to those brought out by Daniel Burnham in the book in terms of its rare nature. This aspect alone makes the artifact unique in terms of its interpretation of the dinosaur species. This is because relatively little is known with absolute certainty about this particular species. The artifact is therefore very important in terms of extrapolating the actual size of the creature of which it is merely a very small representation. Time has obviously taken its tone on the artifact. This is evident from the physical appearance of the artifact. This is because the artifact has a hardened exterior and appears more like a rock as opposed to a bone, which was part of a living organism. The only aspect about this artifact that can even remotely suggest that it is in its actuality a bone, is its physical shape. Its shape clearly resembles or rather embodies the physical shape of a bone. The artifact is brown in color, but has a very dark shade of the color brown that is actually verging on black. The artifact is however very thick and very dense thus showing the magnitude or rather the mass of the creature it is representative of. The shape of the artifact is however surprisingly similar to the regular shapes of bones found in everyday animals such as chicken. This is very interesting in terms of its implications in relation to similarity and composition between all living creatures as well as its firm affirmation and advocacy of the validity of the evolution theory.[Erik Larson, The Devil in the White City: Murder, Magic, and Madness at the Fair That ChangedAmerica (New York: Random House, 2003), 84.]
The existence of this artifact is very important in terms of the analysis of the impact of the world's fair on the historical development of Chicago. The world's fair brings together perhaps the most exotic and rare artifacts all under one roof. Thus, this gives the audience eye candy for lack of a better word in terms of the exhibitions on display. These artifacts are very important as far as the historical development of Chicago is concerned. The fair as well as the artifact in question share great similarity to the book devil in a white dress. Just like Daniel Burnham built the 1893 Chicago fair to tell of the rich history of Chicago this particular fair mimics his actions. This particular fair highlights the potential of Chicago just like the fair designs by Daniel Burnham in the devil in a white dress. The presence of this dinosaur bone for instance stands to show just how historically rich this area is. Moreover, it shows how m...
