Following the Festo system description, the following program was developed for the sorting station. The program is such that the machines operates as follows: i When the start button is pushed, the conveyor starts.
iiWhen a part is detected on the conveyor, it stops at the Part Stop and is
assessed whether it is metallic or plastic.
iiiThe part is then allowed through the stop.
ivIf the part is metallic, Shute 1 Eject must send it down Shute 1.
vIf the part is plastic, Shute 2 Eject must send it down Shute 2.
viThe system must be capable of sorting multiple parts.
viiThe system must automatically stop when 10 of any part has been through the system.
viiiPressing Stop at any time will stop the system.
