Program Evaluation of Templo Yoruba (Dissertation Sample)
The paper involved a research project, where the student was requires to research whether the Santeria religion was a business sect benefiting the people, or it was a true religion.
The research performed an evaluation of the Templo Yoruba OmoOchun del Caribe Jorge el Santero, IRS ID. #660790306, and its Tax Exempt Status under the U.S. and Puerto Rico Internal Revenue code qualified to be tax exempt or not.
The analysis was seeking to identify and conclude whether Santeria should be classified as for profit organization because of their business enterprising rather that a non-profit and religious organization, based on the Internal Revenue Code. In addition, the paper considered whether the organization should be considered for taxation purposes. Further, the business and taxation aspects of the Santeria religion have not been researched, and therefore, there was a need to fill this research gap.

1.0 Introduction
1.1 Background of the study
Santeria is a religion that is widely spread, which has captured the interest of many people around the globe. The reason for its high interest is its associated powerful visceral religious experience and deep mystical roots. Santeria, which is commonly known as the La ReglaLucumÃ(or LukumÃ), is one of the strongest African diaspora, which is widely spread all over the world. It is scattered by the African slaves, who were brought to the new world.
Considering its origin, Santeria is a syncretic religion of Caribbean origin, which developed in the Spanish Empire among West African slaves. Santeria refers to a system of believes, which are synchronized and influenced by the Roman Catholicism Empire. It is composed of a system of norms, which were brought to the New World, by slaves from the African tradition. The slaves carried with them various religious customs, including a trance and divination system for communicating with their ancestors and deities, animal sacrifice, and sacred drumming and dance. Upon its arrival in the Americas, this religious tradition evolved into what we now recognize as Santeria.
Currently, Santeria is based on the aspect of development of the personal relationships, which is extended through various aspects such as divination, initiation, sacrifice, and medium ship. These practices are exercised between the religion practitioners and the Orisha deities. These p...
