In careers such as medicine or engineering, such a recruitment process is rarely observed. Relatively, even when it comes to the academic training, the process tends to be more detailed involving more than one professional body, and it may vary across states. For instance, while Judicial Professional Ethics body is required in training and instilling ethical codes among the newly appointed judges, the National Center for State Courts is mandated in providing elected judges with orientation mastery. Besides, the role played by the politicians in shaping careers for judges cannot be underestimated. For example, the judicial nominating commission which handles the matters related to application and appointment tends to have its composition influenced by the decisions of the Congress. Furthermore, politicians are among the critical sources for offering recommendations on who should be nominated for a position of judge. Persons seeking to become a judge ought to understand the complexity involved in the training process of judges and all the essential players engaged for them to successfully navigate their way up in this career path. The body The main role of a judge in a court is to preside over legal proceedings like hearings and trials. In a courtroom, lawyers present and argue their case before a judge, and the judge ensure that each side follows the rules and regulations of the courtroom keenly. They also ensure court proceedings are fair and just in terms of submission and admission of evidence in the court. After hearing the presentations from all the parties to the case, the judge, depending on a particular case, may hear evidence and determine the ruling on their own. However, in other cases, the judge may involve a jury who determines the ruling of a particular case. Judges preside over different types of cases, which range from civil cases, family law, contract cases, probate to juvenile cases among many others.
