There are a couple of bills already presented to the federal or state which are going to have a direct or indirect impact on registered nurses' practices. “The Federal registered nurse safe staffing act” was presented to the House of Representatives as well as the Senate on February 8, 2018, and is aimed at amending the Public Health Service Act to ensure the recommended direct care registered nurse to patient staffing ratio in American hospitals (Janice, 2019). On approval to law, this bill is expected to bring with it many positive changes in the American health care services.
