Villarosa GenMed September 10, 2018 At the Giving End It was Hippocrates, a Greek Physician, who once said: “Wherever the art of medicine is loved, there is also a love for humanity.” While it is true the prospects of bearing an MD degree and becoming renowned in one’s own field has always been tempting for any medical student, I realized that being a doctor means much more than the glitz and glamour that it entails. Being a doctor means providing others with the highest level of care; being delighted with the simple smiles and ‘thanks you's’ of the patients whom she healed despite their inability to afford a treatment; and not stopping until every option has been exhausted just to find the right cure for every patient that she has.
