Running Head: ADVERTISING Advertising Name Institution Tutor Course Date Advertising Nike Soccer Shoes Advertisement Advertising helps increase sales by informing potential buyers about the existence and benefits of a given product. Advertising is done depending on the nature of the product, the targeted consumer, and availability of advertising media (Wu, 2008). This can be done using the web, televisions, radio, posters and even live ads or even promotions. This paper analyzes the advertising strategy for Nike Soccer Shoes for boys. It is necessary to study the habits, behaviors and activities the intended age engages in so that the marketing strategy can be effective. Part 1: User Habits The new shoes, Nike Soccer, have become popular especially with the school going boys. The product shoes will target a number of individuals. For example, the first group includes boys who love dressing in such shoes. Their age will vary from around ten to twenty years of age. Another group includes High School Soccer teams and the youth between 15-18 years of age. These groups have several things in common in terms of whatever they do and internet consumption. These users have fun when playing and therefore any advertising strategy should involve some play somewhere. As well, they love playing and especially football. The above kind of understanding makes it possible to know the individuals to be targeted by the advertising strategy (Clingham, 2007). The people between the above age brackets are also common visitors of the internet and other social sites such as twitter.com and facebook.com. Another important idea is to utilize the school procedures because we have high school soccer teams who as well form a customer-base for the Nike Soccer Shoes. This can be achieved by targeting the high school tutors so that they can purchase the shoes for their teams (Iyengar, 2009). This understanding will make it possible to have positive advertising strategy for the Nike Shoes and by so doing increase profits for the company. Part 2: Marketing Channels For the new shoes, Nike uses different means and channels to get to the targeted audience. The first is through the web. This has been done to target internet users such as high school students who visit frequently as they do assignments. Some parents also use the net therefore they can encounter the adverts and purchase the shoes for their children. Mobile alerts can also be used to increase awareness. Today people access facebook.com which is a social network and majority of the users form the targeted group of customers (Wu, 2008). Television is also used to advertise to the users at home. This informs families and frequent individuals who watch television. Other means include use of hulu and linkedin. These approaches have helped Nike sale its shoes to its targeted market. The product targets mainly the young. This is why the use of the above means and media is necessary because somewhere the individual will be reached out by the ads. Such individuals can afford to purchase the product or request their guardians and tutors thereby making the advertising process successful (Nike’s ‘Just Do It’ Advertising Campaign, 2008). Part 3:Objective Objective The objective for the advertising process is to reach out to the greatest number of possible customers by using all possible means such as the internet, the media, and even through ads and promotions.
