He opened the company as a home based business with the vision to growing it to a multinational firm. The company’s inception took place in 1998 in Indianapolis, Indiana. The company’s starter was a former employee of Medeco Security Locks, Inc. before embarking on this noble task. Initially, the couple comprising of him and his wife wanted to start producing homogenous products to the company which he worked previously but opted to be unique. He contacted ADT Company and set up business deals with them to help them supply their products. This move gave him massive success. The company later opted to offer more added products to their customers and contacted Dish Network Satellite TV for a business deal. This deal proves to be very fruitful as the company added more revenue to their account. The company’s culture which promotes respect for the employees allowing them to improve their education proves very helpful for the business. In the recent days, the firm has struggled to define its culture precisely. This strategic culture is pivotal in helping the company move forward and achieve its goals. Many years after the start of the corporation its founder have maintained massive power over all departments. His recent attempts to give other people within the company have been a challenge to the entire firm. His current managerial tactic needs to get changed for the better of the enterprise. Based on the full case study, there are numerous strategic culture approaches and he should consider using one of them. Currently, the company finds it hard when trying to implement any change either in structure or any other company’s structure. Implementing the change may get necessitated by the need to bring a new idea to the enterprise. The company ought to determine the best approach to make its structure flexible and adapt to future needs (Edwards & Wayne, 2013). Alternative Solutions 1. One approach that the enterprise can use is for the founder to relinquish some roles. This move will allow him to trust some employees to help him perform other duties. He can then promote some of them to managerial positions. 2 The next approach for this company to use is to make their mission statement clear and encourage employees to work towards achieving it. With workers having a well-defined mission, they know what the firm expect of them. Using this approach, implementing changes will be an easy task. 3 The company should create a new department concerned with monitoring changes. This move will help the firm identify any change that needs to get implemented. Once this unit determines a change, they should measure its impact and advice the company accordingly. Through this move, implementing a change will be easy. Selected Solution to the Problem The best approach that the firm should use is to do any work with their mission statement in mind and make it clear. Working on this statement will help the company work as per its key strategy, a move that will make the operations in the company proceed with ease. The company aims to be the best in the industry while offering high-quality products to its customers. This approach will be very beneficial to the enterprise. Apart from reducing conflicts within the firm, it will allow it to operate with ease. If the employees know what the firm expects of them, they will work towards it. The next move that the company to identify key issues that affect the company’s current operation and threats that could affect the firm.
