Content:

Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is a self-regulating business model that allows a company to hold itself, its stakeholders, and the public socially accountable. Companies that practice corporate social responsibility are aware of their impact on all aspects of society, including economic, social, and environmental factors (Fernando, 2010). In this case study, we will talk about Coca-Cola’s Corporate Social Responsibilities. In 1886, Coca-Cola began as a small-scale soda manufacturer in Atlanta, Georgia (US). By 2005, it had become the world's largest manufacturer, distributor, and marketer of non-alcoholic beverages and syrups. The corporation is a public company that is traded on the New York Stock Exchange+.
Original Policies and Reporting
Coca-Cola's policy on corporate social responsibility Live Positively identifies seven core areas in which the company sets measurable goals to improve its sustainability practices. Examples include beverage benefits, active healthy living, the community, energy and climate, sustainable packaging, water stewardship, and the workplace (The Coca-Cola Company, 2011). Coca-Cola has a Code of Business Conduct that aims to provide employees with guidelines on topics like competition and anti-corruption. Coca-Cola issues an annual directors' report called 'The Coca-Cola Company Annual Report,' which includes a brief section on CSR. This section includes a synopsis of the company's community development and water conservation initiatives. Coca-Cola also issues an annual CSR report, titled "The Coca-Cola Company Sustainability Review." These biannual reviews are verified and assured by a third party, FIRA Sustainability, a sustainability rating firm.
