Research Project Track: The research project will follow evidence observed from existing research that has been published from several journals that are universally recognized.
Research Paradigm: The project will follow a constructivism paradigm to establish ways supplier relationships can be enhanced in the current business environment.
Research Design: The research applied in this project will be a descriptive research design where qualitative analysis of existing data on the topic will be deployed.
Proposed Topic: Enhancing productive supplier relationships in today's competitive business environment.
Problem Statement
General Problem Statement
The general problem statement in this research will be;
The procurement department in every organization plays a crucial role in enhancing productive supplier relationships that help enhance the competitiveness of today's business environment.
* The business environment has become highly competitive, which plays a significant role in organizations' relationships with their suppliers (Lintukangas et al., 2019).
* The suppliers play a crucial role in enhancing supply chain management (Min et al., 2019).
* Every business entity is focused on streamlining its supply chain to reduce inefficiencies in the production process (Lintukangas et al., 2019; Wamba et al., 2020).
* Supply plays a crucial role in ensuring the success of the business, right from the requisition process to the final delivery of the common goods or services (Wang et al., 2018).
* The procurement department in every organization or entity is responsible for enhancing smooth relationships with the suppliers (Saraswati, 2018).
* There has been an existing conflict arising from the nature of relationships procuring departments have with the suppliers.
* The procuring entity must ensure that its relationship with the suppliers does not compromise the entire supply chain management process for business continuity (Wang et al., 2018).
Specific Problem Sentence

Zach is an Associate Professor of Supply Chain Management and director of the Center for Supply Chain Research at Lehigh University, College of Business and Economics. He teaches undergraduate and graduates program courses in Supply Chain Management and Logistics and Transportation. Smith is the Chair Department of Finance and Supply Chain Management at Central Washington University, where together with colleagues in the department, he has been continuously engaged in refining the course’s curriculum to make sure that students are well equipped to handle the highly dynamic business environment.
The article was first published in 2001 in the Journal of Business and Logistics, where it has undergone several editions, to the current edition, which was published in 2019. The journal presents a historical review of how the initial article has helped shape both theory and practice of supply chain management. It also highlights the fundamental changes, markets, and technologies that have emerged since the first edition was published.
