CrossFit Inc is one of America's largest fitness brands, founded by Greg Glassman in 2000 (Hitt, Ireland & Hoskisson, 2016). The fitness brand generates most of its income through affiliates and its training certification program (Hitt, Ireland & Hoskisson, 2016). The company founder credits its success to technology and its dynamic culture. As a technology company, CrossFit began posting its workout regimen on its websites that its client across the world would access (Cej, 2009). The company does not charge its customers for the content its posts on its website. According to the company's founder, this strategy has earned it unlimited exposure and helped it build one of the most popular fitness brands. In light of this, an analysis of the company's external and internal environment will be provided.

The eight segments relevant to the analysis of CrossFit's external environment include technological, political, demographic, social, economic, global, competitive, and ethical factors (Akpoviroro & Owotutu, 2018).
Technological factors
Technology has played a dominant role in the success of the CrossFit brand. Social media sites dominate communication, advertising, and marketing in today's society (Hitt, Ireland & Hoskisson, 2016). These sites have increased our ability to maintain social contact much less intimately. Social media has been integral in the growth of the CrossFit brand. As earlier noted, the fitness brand became popular due to the free content on various workout regimens that it posts on its website. It is through the internet that the company has managed to build an extensive community and develop its affiliate program that generates the company's most of its income. Social media sites have been an efficient and cost-effective avenue that has allowed CrossFit to extend its global reach. Through such sites, members of the CrossFit community
