An effective manager in an organization is an individual who undertakes the role of leading others through organizing them and making plans aimed at attaining an organization’s goals. They take the roles of ensuring that subordinate staff members complete their tasks and their department achieves the desired results (Sennewald, 2003). Managerial effectiveness in an organization is not only based on personal traits but also on managerial skills. Managerial skills required in effective management arise through the leader’s experience and as well training while managing the organization. the paper is an analysis of effective management traits in the dynamic corporate world.
Managerial traits in an effective manager
Communication traits
As highlighted earlier, a manager has the responsibility of ensuring organization’s department contribute towards attainment of the set goals and visions. Consequently, he needs to instruct the subordinates while carrying out their tasks. An effective manager should have the ability of maintaining an open and direct communication with the subordinates. in addition, good listening skills are important in ensuring that he maintains a direct interaction with the other employees (Sennewald, 2003).
Transformational traits
Effective managers focus on developing others through offering support services. More so, through inspiring their workers and as well motivating them, they transform them through increasing their tasks’ competence and as well increasing their self-confidence while in the organization (McEwan-Adkins, 2003).
Ability to maintain optimum relations
Effective management in an organization has a characteristic of positive internal relations. Effective managers should have personal relationships with their departmental members. Bridging gaps between managers and employees plays role in promoting optimum relations. Additionally, it improves employee’s trust on their managers (Wiig, 2004).

Today’s business world is continuously changing. As a result, businesses are changing their operations aiming at coping with the changing world. On the other hand, management‘s creativity plays a significant role in contributing to business effectiveness. Consequently, an effective manager needs to have a high level of adaptability. Management effectiveness in the current corporate world depends on the manager’s ability to adjust to changes and as well offer mew solutions to issues facing the organization (McEwan-Adkins, 2003).
