Objectives provide a clear vision of what the company wants to achieve and how it plans to reach those goals. By setting objectives, a company can keep its employees focused and motivated, ensure clear communication of expectations, and establish measurable criteria for evaluating progress. Goal-setting methodologies vary depending on the company’s objectives and the timeline for achieving them. One of the most popular methods is SMART goal-setting, which stands for Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, and Time-bound (CFI Team, 2022). This method is effective because it provides specific criteria for goal-setting that can be easily tracked and measured. It helps ensure that objectives are realistic and achievable within a given timeframe. Another popular goal-setting methodology is the OKR (Objectives and Key Results) system. This system is based on setting ambitious yet achievable objectives and key results that measure progress toward those objectives (Martins, 2022). This system is effective because it helps to ensure that objectives are challenging yet attainable and that employees are held accountable for their progress.
