I agree with your definition that internal recruiting refers to the process an organization uses to fill vacant positions by sourcing staff from the existing workforce. From the outset, I would like to admit that you chose an interesting article. I have read it several times and realized how an organization can improve its turnover rates through various approaches. However, I have noted, after reading your post that you have not created any direct link between your article and how it is related to internal recruiting. I would take the direction that internal recruiting motivates employees to work hard so that they can get promotions or salary increase.
I agree with you that competition for promotions within an organization is healthy and improves the performance of employees. However, on the downside, the competition in internal recruitment may create resentment, especially when some employees feel that they were more suitable for a job that was given to another employee (Derous & De Fruyt, 2016). My take is that while internal recruiting may have its challenges, the process saves time and money that could have been used to train new employees.
