My dream is to start a coffee shop since I am a huge coffee drinker and my love for good coffee goes without mention. Each time I walk into a coffee shop, I always try to look for those key signs that I will work on and do a better job. In this paper, I discuss my coffee shop plan, goals, and risks associated with starting a coffee shop.
The first significant risk associated with running a successful coffee shop is choosing a location. The success or failure of a coffee shop is considerably related to the location of the coffee shop. It's evident that not everyone is a coffee drinker, but it's also apparent that depending on where you are, some people cannot go a day without drinking at least three cups of coffee (Jang 2015). I plan to overcome this risk by doing research and analysis in locating areas with huge consumption habits and a massive coffee fan base.
As with any other business, competition is a significant risk in determining a business's success and failure. There is a lot of competitor in the coffee industry, not to mention Starbucks' likes, for instance, who are already very much established in this industry (Waxman 2016). My plan on overcoming this risk is by putting lots of effort into advertising my coffee shop. One way to do this will be through social media.
