In the management sector, power plays a huge role in enhancing growth and sustainability of the firm. Personal power can be termed as the ability and authority that one has over those below him/her. Personal power is the foundation of entrepreneurship life, business, and governing strategies.
Typically, power has always been branded with negative connotation based on how it is being exercised or has been exercised before. It is clearly that both authority and leadership have their positive and negative in their attributes (Karp, 1985). 
Ways of increasing power
All human beings are born with their personal powers. The only challenge could be how to exploit your power in the right way to the right persons. Power is within every individual’s hand, and it is their right to effectively increase it. There are certain things you need which help you increasing the personal power-
Once, we need to embrace hard work over its entitlement. This helps in ensuring that power is well managed and it positively attributes to the growth of a person mentally and physically.
Secondly, personal power can be increased through knowing lover hate aspects. If one is in a position to love more than he/she hates, then the power of love becomes stronger.
Thirdly, we need to combine this two aspects, which is knowledge over ignorance and service over self-interest. In this case, knowing your stuff buildings your personality much more than making more assumptions in life. In case you are liable for any responsibility, the services you gives defines your knowledge and ability to it than giving services based on self-interests.
Lastly, courage over, wisdom over foolishness, and grace over condemnation are other ways in which one can increase its personal power. There are some others like humility over despair and hope over despair using which we can increase our personal power in less time and effective manner (Karp, 1985). 
Appealing higher purpose
There are certain ways to appeal for a higher purpose. Followings of them are provided below-
First, learn to remove any negative thoughts as soon as possible as they become obstacles in the path of your vision. These would be your hindrances for the achievements of set goals and targets in your life.
Secondly, while searching for the best alternative for a solution to a certain problem, one needs to look towards the positive and find the approaches which create the positive thoughts in mind. This stimulates personal thinking, and more solutions would be generated within a short span.
The third point has self-encouragement. This will help one to think and grow higher in thoughts and mind. It is one way of ensuring that you grow in the overall state of your life.
Fourth, be responsible for all your feelings. When angered, ensure that you will be in a position to control the harm out of it.
Fifth, try and ensure you dwell and focus much on possibilities only. Other things will only be limiting factors of your personal powers.
Finally, let it go. Let all those things surrounding your wellbeing with no positive impact in your go.
