The Effect of Project Assumptions on Procurement
Projects assumptions affect procurement because they are the estimates of the requirements. Under projects assumptions, the type of contracts, planned delivery dates, company's standard documents, the number of vendors, prequalified sellers, the impact of constraints on the project, and coordination of purchasing levels are projected. All the above information affects procurement because they determine the requirements of the project. Procurement is a lay out plan of the requirements of the project will be availed. Project assumptions are important because they help push the project forward by contributing to the plan. Project assumptions, like a simple and temporary layout, can be altered in case an imbalance is discovered on the ground. The imbalance may be caused by an under-valuation or over-valuation when the project assumptions were formulated. A single or more elements of project assumptions can be eliminated or added if it was either overlooked or exaggerated. In short, projects assumptions are basic elements of the project that affects the procurement (Project Management Institute,2008).
Project Constraints that affect Procurement and their Impacts
Project constraints are limiting factors that affect the implementation of a program, project, process, or portfolio. They can also be defined as restrictions given by stakeholders or environmental factors that limit the execution of a project. Project constraints include scope, budget, resources, risks, and schedule. The scope a project limits the procurement process to the works defined by the initial contracts. Any aspect of the procurement process must be reflected in the contract of the work. The procurement process must be done within the schedule of the project. Otherwise, it will affect the time required to complete the project. The procurement of a project is supposed to balance with the budget to avoid constraints. All the resources available for a project are shared proportionally amongst its activities, including procurement. Each activity must utilize the resources assigned to it efficiently. Threats face projects and affect the procurement process in many ways. For instance, a natural calamity like a storm can destroy all the items that had been procured for the project. The procurement process must be consistent with quality levels expected for the project (Project Management Institute, 2008).
Projects Scope and Vendors
The scope of a project is what it contains or delivers. It affects vendors because they will deliver the specific requirements of the projects. For instance, if the project is to build a house, the vendors will only deliver the specific requirements. The scope of a project also contains the budget and resources required to complete it: the vendors must supply the requirements that are within the budget and of which resources of the project can support.

Introduction/ Background (organization and industry)
The Home Landscaping project is meant to enhance the outlook of my home and make it attractive. I choose the project so as I could incorporate the knowledge and skills learned in class to real life. The project gives the general description of the plan, the requirements, the risks expected to face the project, and time span in which it will be completed. The projects also give the budgetary and resource requirement of its components.
Business Objective
The business objective of the project is to enhance the general outlook of the home, increase the value of the property and boost the curb appeal, and to utilize the space around home.
Current Situation and Problem/Opportunity Statement
Currently, the compound surrounding the home is large and empty, and there is a need to enhance its look. The owner of the project will utilize the knowledge and skills learned in class to organize a process that will utilize the free space by building a compound, planting flowers, bushes, and pavements. As part of the project, the front and backyard will be decorated using different colors and items.
Critical Assumptions and Constraints
The critical assumptions of the project are that the owner has enough skills and knowledge to apply in the project, the price of the requirements will change over the course of the project, and the project will overcome all the expected risks. The constrains expected to face the project include adverse weather, changes in the price of materials, delay in delivery of materials and equipment, an imbalance in resource allocation, and insufficient experience.
Analysis of Options and Recommendations
Due to the inevitability of constraints, the following techniques will be used to tackle them: avoidance, acceptance, and mitigation. If the initial part of the project faces a risk that is likely to derail its implementation, the whole part will be eliminated and replaced. If the risk is minimal and the part of the project can proceed, the acceptance strategy will be adopted. Lastly, a mitigation strategy will be applied for risks whose effects can be reduced to allow part of the project proceed (Name, 2015).
Preliminary Project Requirements
The following are the preliminary requirements of the project: service of builders, landscapers, and interior designers; a canopy with seating area; outside eating area; outside lights; flowers; bushes; pavement blocks; and decoration for front and back yards.
