Employees have a direct impact on the performance of any organization. A selection of the right staff and motivation is critical to maximizing performance. Moreover, highly motivated employees remain productive throughout the entire working life and help in reducing costs involved in labor turnover (Mahmood & Manarvi, 2009). Various strategies can be used to revive a non-performing workforce to work towards achieving organizational goals. Investing in none performing workforce is critical to improving production.
Appreciation for work done increases self-esteem and boosts performance. Appreciation for little efforts from the employees increases the production of workers as they feel part of the organization. According to Rigolosi &Rigolosi(2005), recognition may take various forms such as gifts, bonuses, or salary increment. Moreover, recognizing employees’ special days such as weddings or graduations increases the sense of belonging to the organization. Notably, employees with unique skills can be pushed to work for the advantage of the business.
Training and advancement in levels of education surpass performance. An Educated workforce has sufficient skills that are imperative for the business success. Training stimulates teamwork and acquisition of knowledge used to elevate the production of a company. Moreover, collaboration improves interaction where all the staff has an opportunity to discuss the possible reasons for an enterprise’s downswing (Mahmood & Manarvi, 2009). Motivation triggers the mode of thinking of a workforce leading to improved confidence in the employees’ areas of expertise.
