Sustainability plans are plans that an organization makes to achieve objectives that promote community, environmental and financial sustainability. Our paper will focus on sustainability vision that will lead to improvement of IKEA. The paper will also include the aims, objectives, strategies, tactics and evaluation that IKEA Company have used. Dahlvig (2012, p.31) states that IKEA is one of the multinational company that design and sells ready to assemble furniture, small motor vehicles, appliances and home accessories.
Aims of Sustainability Vision of IKEA
The sustainability vision of IKEA is to improve the welfare of many people in the society. IKEA Group operates its activities within the limits of the planet. Working on the planet, will enable IKEA to make a positive difference to their co-workers, customers, suppliers and the planet. As a result of IKEA’s activities, great things are happening. IKEA understand that their customers want to live comfortably at home thus they make sustainable products. The products are well designed, functional, good quality and cost friendly to the customers.
Objectives of the Sustainability Vision of IKEA
The main objective of IKEA is to make the group completely sustainable to the entire environment and the community in large. IKEA Company has a very important role to play. Their roles are aimed at creating transformational change that will solve the challenges facing society demands bold actions.
Strategies of the Sustainability Vision of IKEA
Some of the sustainability strategies used by IKEA includes making products that will lead to a more sustainable life at home, being independent of their resources and energy. BY August 2020, IKEA aims to source 100% of their wood, paper, and their cardboard (Ireland et al, 2012, p. 109). IKEA keeps conducting research on the ever-changing trends in customers’ tastes and preferences so as to create high selling products.
Tactics
IKEA have used multiple combinations of tactics in achieving their set objectives. IKEA has developed and promoted products and solutions that enable customers to save energy, reduce wastage or recycle water.
Evaluation of the Sustainability vision of IKEA
IKEA has secured a long-term access to sustainable raw materials. The access to raw materials has had a positive impact on the society that IKEA Company source material (Timm et al, 2015, p. 22). The company has achieved to drive energy efficiency throughout their entire value chain.

IKEA produces a wide variety of products such as furniture, appliances, small motor vehicles, and home accessories. The reputation of IKEA in producing quality and sustainable products has improved over the years. The quality products that IKEA produce has led to a positive image in the eyes of the public thus attracting more customers. The increase in customers has resulted in an increase in the overall revenue of IKEA.
The sustainability vision has also led to the innovation of new ideas. To satisfy the ever changing taste and preference of their customers, IKEA has introduced new and creative tactics to their activities. IKEA has embraced integrated supply chain.
