E-commerce is the most cost reducing way of doing business. This report is about a clear description of e-commerce in terms of its strengths, forms and weaknesses, how it is implemented, the strategies used and the challenges facing it.One method of research was used in this report that is secondary sources. It involved reviewing other forms of writing such as articles, journals, books and papers. The research covered different forms of ecommerce such business to business(B2B),business to customer(B2C) and customer to customer(C2C).It also covered the different ways of implementing ecommerce in business transactions and the strategies used in terms of information systems required. Security issues that are involved in online business and challenges facing ecommerce were also covered.

Electronic commerce is sharing business information, maintaining business relationships and conducting business transactions by means of telecommunications networks (Vladimir, 2014). Electronic-commerce is a form of commerce that involves buying and selling of products by business corporations and consumers all over the world using the internet.
Generally, there are three forms of e-commerce. We have business to business commerce which involves various business corporations carrying out inter-firms transactions over the web (Jeffrey, 2006, p4). We also have business to consumer e –commerce which is the most common form and it involves buying and selling of products by consumers from business corporations over the web. The other form of e-commerce is consumer to consumer e-commerce which is normally found in auction sites (Laudon&Traver, 2014).
