The ability of an organization to be productive and operate smoothly hugely depends on communication in the workplace as a significant aspect. In all organizations, there will be distinctive difficulties that individuals come across every single day. A standout amongst the most essential is the way communication is done in the workplace. Of the considerable number of issues that tend to manifest as time goes by, most are brought by a failure to use better procedures of communication as a part of the working environment. With the ascent of innovation, it is highly unlikely that all individuals can communicate successfully the same with everyone and there are a couple of things that all people can do so as to enhance effective communication in the workplace. Effective communication in the workplace can help improve corporate culture and cohesion which are significant aspects of any successful organization.
When workplace communication is effective, it helps employers and employees to form a team that is highly effective. In such instances, it is easier for employees and management to trust each other. Workplace communication lessens unnecessary departmental competition and in this way, employees work in a more harmonious way. In this way, employees know they are valued and that their roles are clearly defined. When a harmonious environment exists in the workplace, seniors can correct the juniors without creating animosity. Employee motivation is enhanced if communication in the workplace is effective. One of the numerous positive aspects picked up from a well-established communication in the workplace is that relationships are improved. It is imperative that the relationship between the management and employees remains healthy, and it is a factor that is mostly ignored. Things will move smoothly when everybody is in agreement, understands the objectives of the organization and the team is heading in the right direction (Gerson and Gerson, 2007).
In any organization, every employee needs and craves for respect from all the parties. As such, the thoughts and ideas of every individual in the workplace should be given real consideration. One of the best techniques, particularly when giving disturbing news is to convey the news well. This considers a great deal more exhaustive communication as a person can use body language, voice variations, and eye contact to get a more straightforward messages conveyed. The manager can do away with this problem by keeping the communication lines open and straightforward. Leaders in the workplace should learn to listen to their juniors as they feel cared for and valued (Baguley, 2009).
Open communication channels result in innovations and ideas in many aspects. Dependability and trust play a significant role in the success of any relationship. These relationships are then the way to address fundamental issues affecting the organization. This input is both active and useful to the organization. Likewise, if relationships with external audiences are healthy, they will fabricate the same concerning the organization’s products, culture, values, and services (Gerson and Gerson, 2007).
When employees understand that which is imperative to their organizations can, they turn to work better and seize the available opportunities that can help improve the status of the organization. Through these solid relationships, they get to know that the ideas they come up with will be highly valued. The valuation of their input in organizational progress helps boost their morale and thus work more efficiently. The teamwork of an organization will assist the employees of the organization at all levels to achieve the goals of the organization. Likewise, effective communication in an organization gives employees the chance to learn the positives of the organization and work in the same direction (Gerson and Gerson, 2007).
