An Interactive blog refers to the type of a blog where there is some interaction of the blog with the blog visitors. This helps in making sure that the visitors in this case referred to as traffic stay for longer periods on the blog and in the process enabling one to be in a position of building a good rapport with the visitors as well as aiding in converting them. The most important question to ask ourselves is if we employ the right tools that are available so as to facilitate interaction on our blogs. (Hedengren, T. D. 2012)We should as well establish if there are any other means that can be used other than buying the desired products and services or converting to e-mail subscribing. It’s beyond obvious knowledge to realize that there are only few companies nowadays that actually walk the talk in terms of how an interactive blog can in the long run help in marketing the company’s products and services with ease as compared to a blog which is not interactive. It is the summation of the total number of interactions with customers that determine the sales of the blog products since this will allow the customers to see the adverts and accept delivery of the products that they intend to purchase. Interactive blogs reflects the image of the company products as being great and of good quality. (Kamlag, T. 2006) Customers talking to the company’s call centre representatives or by visiting the website are in a better position to get more clarification on the products and services that they intend to buy. The customer experience is what will reflect in all the interactions that he or she might have gone through before the actual purchase of the product.
Pitfall of Blogs from Business perspective
Easy & cheap publicity-since it is easy to come up with statements that will be achieved and publicly exposed forever, one of the shortcomings of a blog can be the wrong publicity that it can get even for the wrong reasons.
Constant maintenance-due to the fact that a blog is a time based entity; any lag in time will result in pushing your respective blog out of the customer’s readers top eight. This will make the blog disappear from the RSS feeds.( Hedengren, T. D. 2012)
