Communication is the process where information is conveyed from the sender to the receiver. For communication to be effective there must be a feedback. Feedback usually states that the information was either delivered or not delivered to the recipient. If the message is not delivered to the recipient when there may be communication barriers that comprise noise, language barriers, cultural difference, physical barriers, use of jargon, lack of interest, prejudice and differences in perception (Mojzisch, Kerschreiter, Faulmüller, Vogelgesang & Schulz-Hardt, 2014).
Interpersonal Communication entails passing of information from one person to another and it is ranked as one of the most effective modes of communication between organizations. This form of communication may involve various channels such as media, person to person, social media etc. Organizations rely on personal communication to evaluate the objectives and goals of the company which may lead to the vision and mission. In this paper, I will shade light on the role of interpersonal communication in an organization (Singh, 2014).
Management is the pillar of any organization and employees such as chairperson of the board, human resource and other depart managers are the drivers of the company’s mission and vision of the firm. However, they must work in line with other workers through interpersonal communication. Therefore, interpersonal skills play a significant role in building the relationship and corporation among workers. The issue of trust and accountability must be established to ensure all workers are in agreement with all activities. Interpersonal communication will ensure the effective flow of information to ensure all employees work accordingly. Through effective communication, workers will not waste time which may be as a result of the issuing of duties, responsibilities, goals and objectives of the firm (Singh, 2014).
Human resource department plays a significant role in steering employees to remain equipped with the relevant skills that are proportional in the business environment. Human resource employees must have excellent interpersonal skills to advertise and conduct the recruitment process to employ the best workers who are knowledgeable and have the skills to drive the firm to success. The newly recruited and also existing workers must always be updated with the necessary skills through training to remain relevant in the competitive business world. The supervisors must have interpersonal communication skills to train workers. The process may be informal or formal to equip employees with the necessary professional skills to execute their duties effectively (Singh, 2014).
Business organizations rely on marketing activities to reach out to targeted clients, workers and also other stakeholders.
