The Person who has Made the Greatest Impact in My Life
Some people have unique abilities to inspire others through their life decisions and actions in the population. Their general outlook about life is different from ours and our curiosity to learn more about them leaves us inspired. They give us strength, confidence, renewed attitude towards life, motivation, perseverance, and so much more. I have been lucky to come across such individuals who have become role models to me in my life. However, there is one person who stands out from the rest, my Uncle Ben. He has helped me the most and is a significant influencer and counselor to me and others who have had the privilege of knowing him. His life decisions, lifestyle, and choices influence me to be more like him every day. I consider him the person with the most significant impact in my life because of his contributions towards my renewed general outlook toward life through his life choices.
I have known my Uncle Ben for seven years now, and in such a short time, he has transformed me into a being that I am proud of right now. Six years ago, I was fortunate to have stayed at my Uncle’s place for a whole summer break. I realized that he insisted and personally practiced self-care assessments and practices. These had influenced him to be a career coach, yoga instructor, and motivational speaker in addition to his full-time career as a nurse. He believes that to live a wholesome life and influence others to improve their lives, individuals should observe their needs holistically and take care of themselves first. At that time, I did not know what self-care assessments were, their importance, and their benefits in an individual’s life. His position aroused my curiosity and my desire to practice self-care assessments and make improvements where needed. My Uncle Ben believes that there are eight mutually independent dimensions of well-being that one needs to take care of to live fully.
