Unit V Scholarly Activity Name: Institution: Date: Introduction It is always important for people to identify and compare a variety of lodging options especially where families are involved (Cook et al., 2014). As studies indicate, most people often embark on family adventures hoping to have fun in major cities. Nevertheless, because more than 76% of them fail to carry out the surveys necessary these adventures turn in to nightmares especially from the fun and fiscal perspectives (Cook et al., 2014). This paper intends to identify a major city for family tourists and evaluate three types of hotels in the city carefully considering the specifics of reservations in order to final identify the best option for the family based on the analysis. Background The city chosen is Colorado. The tourists are a family that has a young child and the desired location as per the family's preference is downtown near shopping and attractions. Additionally, the date the family has chosen to visit is 2017 between the months of 14 and 18. The three types of hotels in the city Luxury hotel The luxury hotel selected for analysis is Radison Hotel Colorado (Levine, 2011). This hotel appeals to clients because it offers amenities such as free breakfast, has a fitness facility, and a professional center (Kirkley, 2013). Moreover, the hotel is close to two shopping centers and offers ample parking and security. Notably for business people the environment is serene and management avails free Wi-Fi and swimming pool (Kirkley, 2013). Mid-scale hotel The hotel chosen is Crestwood Suites (Levine, 2011). This hotel despite being a relatively low cost hotel offers free Wi-Fi, is cheaper compared to the previous alternative, and falls in a safe location. More importantly, the hotel offers extended stay and pays special regards to tourists with families (Kirkley, 2013). Actually, the hotel has special rooms reserved for such clients and these rooms include a small carefully decorated room with playing toys to cater for the young. Despite its relatively cheap cost, there is no free meal but room service is full-time. The hotel is nearby to Citadel Mall and National park despite the shopping mall being a mile away (Levine, 2011). One of the most striking features about this hotel is a mobile app that is easy and convenient to use when it comes to bookings and room service. Additionally, the hotel uses the responsive UI design that enables a diversity of user interfaces for the purposes of client standardization for both extended stay and bookings (Levine, 2011). Moreover, one can still complete the booking process via Facebook. Low cost hotel The hotel chosen for evaluation in this segment is Quality Inn (Kirkley, 2013). There is no Wi-Fi available and security is questionable especially at night because the nearest police station is 4 miles away. However, the hotel is still recommendable because its management makes use of the Facebook page to allow for completion of t...
