Organizational Change
Organizational change can simply be defined as the process by which a company goes through a transformation. Organizational change occurs when an organization changes or implements new strategies. People in an organization mainly fear and resist this type of change for various reasons. The first reason would come up as misunderstanding. If employees don’t really understand or get to see any probable cause of the change, and strongly believe in the current system, resistance is sure to occur. Secondly, fear of the unknown or surprise changes in the organizations. This being the main reason, people only work with the unknown if they strongly believe in what they are doing. Most prefer staying still to what they know. Thirdly, if people believe that the management or their leaders would be unable to control the change, they would likely resist. This can be termed as mistrust. Lack of competence is another fear that people rarely admit but organizational change usually requires change in skills whereby most people usually fear that they won’t be able to make the transition well.
